- Educational Qualification
General Stream
- Master’s Degree / Post Graduate Diploma of minimum two years’ duration in any discipline; OR Bachelor’s Degree in Law; OR Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a recognized university.
- Professional qualifications accepted include ACA/FCA from ICAI, ACS/FCS from ICSI, ACMA/FCMA from ICMAI, or CFA from the CFA Institute.
- The equivalent PG Diploma must be recognized as equivalent to a Master’s Degree in that discipline by the Association of Indian Universities where applicable.
Research Stream
- Master’s Degree / minimum two-year PG Diploma in Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, Econometrics, Quantitative Economics, Financial Economics, Mathematical Economics, Business Economics, Agricultural Economics, Industrial Economics or Business Analytics.
- Also includes specified Finance / Quantitative Finance / Mathematical Finance / Quantitative Techniques / International Finance / Business Finance / International & Trade Finance / Project & Infrastructure Finance / Agri Business Finance qualifications.

Actuary Stream
- Graduation from a recognized University/Institute AND pass or exemption in all Seven (07) Core Principles subjects of the Institute of Actuaries of India (IAI) examination.
Official Language (Rajbhasha) Stream
- Master’s Degree in Hindi/Hindi Translation with English as a subject at Bachelor’s level; OR
- Master’s Degree in Sanskrit/English/Economics/Commerce with Hindi as a subject at Bachelor’s level; OR
- Master’s Degree in both English and Hindi/Hindi Translation from a recognized University/Institute.
Additional requirement
Candidates are required to be computer literate and conversant with MS-Office applications, including Word and Excel.
- Important Application Rules
- A candidate may apply for a maximum of two streams, subject to educational eligibility.
- Separate online applications and the applicable fee are required for each stream.
- If more than two streams are applied for, or multiple applications are made for the same stream, only the latest valid application is considered as specified in the notification.
- After final submission, changes/corrections in application particulars are generally not entertained.

Negative marking applies to Paper 2 in Phase II. Paper 1 is evaluated only for candidates meeting the required Paper 2 qualifying standard. The final selection combines Phase II and Interview marks in the 85:15 ratio.

- Interview may be opted for in Hindi or English.
- Phase II carries 85% weightage and Interview carries 15% weightage in final selection.

- Posting & Examination Centres
PFRDA currently has offices in New Delhi and Mumbai. Selected officers may be posted in either office and are also liable to serve anywhere in India according to the Authority’s requirements.
Phase I centres include Mumbai/Navi Mumbai/Thane/Mumbai Metropolitan Region, Pune, Nashik, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and other centres across India. Phase II has a smaller list of centres including Mumbai/Navi Mumbai/Thane/MMR, Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar, Delhi/NCR, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Nagpur, Raipur and others as specified.
Candidates may provide preferences for up to three centres for Phase I and one centre for Phase II. PFRDA reserves the right to change centres.

- Pre-Examination Training
PFRDA provides free online pre-examination training for eligible SC/ST/PwBD/OBC(NCL) candidates who wish to avail it. The candidate must apply separately by e-mail in the prescribed format with the relevant certificate and within the application deadline. Training is online and the communication medium is English/Hindi, subject to administrative feasibility.
